As part of Pcounter's "Popup" feature is a method to enforce user confirmation of printing before the job is released to the printer.

The user can be shown the page count and the cost and asked to print or cancel.

The message which is displayed can be customised to show variables such as the user name, document name, pages, cost, and account balance.

This feature dramatically reduces waste by reducing accidental and unwanted output. Note: Pcounter can also be configured to automatically detect and delete duplicate print jobs which complements the confirmation message feature.

Popup appearance and functionality is customisable - the only software that is required to be installed on the workstation is a single EXE file which can be launched from the Startup group or a login script. The attributes of the popup only need to be configured once at the server, ensuring that the popup's behaviour is consistent across all workstations.
