Secure Print Release Station
with card
integration for copier and network printing control.
Print from anywhere to anywhere -
"Pull-printing" capability
Release at any release station to a printer of choice.
Overview
Pcounter Station runs on a
dedicated Windows PC providing controlled, secure release of print jobs.
After users send print jobs from other workstations, they can approach the
station, optionally authenticate using their name, network password (or
both) and select the jobs they wish to send to print. There is support for
integration with magnetic stripe and smart card based payment systems for
payment at print time or value-transfer to the Pcounter database. Pcounter
Station locks down the PC so that users cannot exit, and the Pcounter
Station software is the only application which is shown on the
computer’s display. End users and third party software companies can
integrate their own applications with Pcounter Station via a DLL interface
supplied with the software.
Pcounter Station
works with print queues hosted on Windows or Novell servers. Pcounter Station in
a NetWare environment works with NDS queues, Bindery queues, and NDPS printers.
Generally, Pcounter for Windows or Pcounter for NetWare should be running on the
print server, in order to automatically pause/hold jobs and to calculate the
page counts and cost of print jobs.
