Pcounter - Photocopier accounting integration

Accounting and control of walk-up copying is provided using control terminals or embedded device software with all copy transactions recorded in a central network database.

PHOTOCOPIER ACCOUNTING (off the glass) - using external terminals

There are standalone copier control solutions where value is held on a card (e.g. smart/chip /Mifare , mag -stripe, or disposable cards).

To provide on-line real-time integration with Pcounter, network-connected copier control devices are installed at each copier - users identify themselves using a keypad or can use a card swipe (e.g. mag -stripe, Mifare proximity) to identify themselves to Pcounter. The user can then use the copier, with limits/quotas optionally enforced, and can be asked to enter charge-codes or client numbers - all details of the copy transaction are logged centrally with all the relevant print data. The unit can also be used to view and release print jobs securely with "pull-printing" capability.

PHOTOCOPIER ACCOUNTING (off the glass) – using embedded software

With the new generation of multi-functional devices from certain manufacturers functionality is embedded in the device to enable direct integration with Pcounter without the need for external hardware by using the touch screen of the multi-functional device (card readers for authentication still need to be connected if required). The user can then use the copier, with limits/quotas optionally enforced, and can be asked to enter charge-codes or client numbers - all details of the copy transaction are logged centrally with all the relevant print data. The unit can also be used to view and release print jobs securely with "pull-printing" capability. Scan to Me and Scan to Folder functionality is available with certain of the embedded solutions. Embedded software modules are available for selected models in the ranges from HP, Sharp, Ricoh, Lexmark, Samsung, Konica Minolta, Toshiba, Kyocera and Xerox – other vendors are being added regularly – please contact us to discuss your specific models and requirements for integration.

PHOTOCOPIER ACCOUNTING (off the glass) – using payment cards

There are standalone copier control solutions where value is held on a card (e.g. smart/chip /Mifare , magnetic stripe, or disposable cards). Pcounter Station (the release station software add-on option for Pcounter) provides integration with card readers giving the ability to pay for printing at print release time: user selects print, job is automatically held, user then goes to the release station, identifies themselves using their user name and password (this is configurable with different options such as ID card), selects the print job from their list of print jobs waiting and then is prompted to enter their card from which the cost of the print job is deducted.
